Laundry Day

I decided to do laundry until I work my shift this afternoon. I feel like laundry day is simultaneously a great and crappy time in my life. College laundry (at least at SCAD) has a number of pros and cons.

Pros:
-Clean clothing (DUH)
-That fresh laundry clean smell warm clothes have coming out of the dryer (yes, i really love that smell in all actuality)
-watching laundry is hypnotic and a great de-stresser (no, i do not stare at my laundry, but i do look at it for a while
-i listen/watch Dr. Horrible's "Laundry Day" song and sing it about a million times while doing laundry ("it's not an death ray or an ice ray that's all johnny snow...")
-i fantasize about dancing with a cute guy around a laundry room and eating froyo while sitting on top of a dryer (i blame the above bullet)
-laundry can be a social activity. examples: group laundry, epic pokemon/other card game battles, meeting new people
-occasionally you find you and your friend decided to do laundry on the same day! (like right now my friend Mal just joined me. woo!)

Cons:
-It takes a minimum of two hours. Even for just 1/2 loads. Why? Because you have 100s of people trying to all wash clothes in two little laundry rooms. But hey, you can do homework while you wait (i usually do that) or you can blog or whatever...
-The laundry rooms are gross. This is due to laziness by certain people who throw lint on the ground, leave trash and hair and crap. I mean really people, we're in college now. Pick up after yourself!
-you have to babysit your clothes. otherwise people will steal them. sad but true.
-even babysitting them, you risk them being stolen. especially if you have loads in both rooms (as it always seems that i do)
-people may dump your clothes on the floor if you don't get to them in time to put them in the dryer. once again, sad but true.
-people leave their clothes in washers/dryers long after they're done, holding up other people. which is usually why the above starts happening.

As you can see, the pros about equals the cons, so each day is different. I'm hoping I can get my loads into dryers relatively quickly because i really need to take a shower before five, but we'll see... My washers are about done so I'll blog more later--love you all! Happy laundry!
